  • Our public and private tours are three and a half hours long and includes three wineries or breweries. The pickup location is also the last stop on the tour so you can spend more time there if you would like.

  • The public and private tours include three wineries or breweries and on average you spend about 45 minutes at each establishment.

  • Public and private tours include tastings fees. We do not include gratuity for waitstaff so please be kind and tip your servers.

    Typically custom tours do not include tasting fees.

  • Public and private winery tours pick up and drop off at one of our designated winery partner locations. We vary the pick-up and drop off location to be as flexible and accommodating as we can be. The meeting location will be sent to you a week in advance of your scheduled tour (because who doesn’t like a little mystery?) and will be one of the following: Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard [594 Merrie Mill Farm, Keswick, VA 22947], Mount Ida Tasting & Tap Room [5931 Blenheim Road, Charlottesville, VA], or Cunningham Creek Winery [3304 Ruritan Lake Road, Palmyra, VA 22963].

    For custom tours we are able to pick up and drop off within the Charlottesville area (email us if you are unsure about your address).

  • Our public and private tours are pre-planned as we want to offer you a unique experience and show you a diverse slate of local establishments.

    If you are interested in a custom experience we do offer custom tours and are happy to work out an itinerary that works for you.

  • We currently offer tours Friday through Sunday, but if you have a specific need during the week, feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Gratuity for waitstaff is not included so please be kind and tip your servers.

    In addition, gratuity is not included in the price of the tour. All of our tour guides take cash or Venmo. Guests typically leave between 15-20% of the booking fee, however the amount is completely up to your discretion and always appreciated.

  • Yes, absolutely! We offer private tours that are curated by us to give you the best experience possible with our favorite wineries and breweries.

    We also offer custom tours upon request and are happy to coordinate an itinerary with you. The price varies based on the number of wineries, length of the tour, etc. Please email us directly at ride@tipsywagentours.com or submit the custom tour request form directly on our website.

General Tour Questions

What to Bring & What is Prohibited

  • Unfortunately, we don’t allow alcohol to be consumed on the drive, but we do provide complimentary waters and there are plenty of beverages to be sampled at each establishment. Don’t worry the drive is fun, scenic, and you won’t even notice you don’t have a cocktail in hand!

  • You can bring snacks or a picnic if you would like, but it will need to be consumed at our stops (not in Mable). Most wineries & breweries have snacks and drinks which are usually more than enough if you aren't the packing type.

  • At this time we only accommodate individuals that are 21 and over.

  • We love our fur babies, but unfortunately we do not allow animals on the tour.

  • Feel free to dress in whatever you are comfortable in. Mable is vintage and does not have an air conditioner or heater. In the summer months it can be very warm and humid and in the fall/winter months it can get a bit chilly so please keep that in mind.

    In summer months, we are able to open her windows and get a nice breeze and most of our partners have air conditioning and shade. In the fall/winter months, we provide blankets and most of our partners have heat or offer out door fire pits to help you stay warm.

  • Yes! We have some storage and a cooler where we can store any purchases.

Cancellation & Other Policies

  • We are a small team so we really appreciate the most amount of notice. We understand life happens, if you need to reschedule we are happy to accommodate depending on our availability.

    All public tour cancellations must be made 7 days in advance for a full refund, 48 hours in advance of your tour for a 50 percent refund. Any cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded.

    Private tour cancellations made more than 14 days in advance will receive a full refund, up to 7 days in advance will receive a 50 percent refund. Any cancellations made with less than 7 days notice will not be refunded.

    Custom tours and special event requests require 14 days cancellation notice for a full refund so Tipsy Tours has enough time to fill the date. Cancellations with less than 14 days notice will not be refunded.

  • Our number one priority is safety so there may be a few instances where we need to cancel due to weather. In those cases, we will do our best to reschedule for a date that works for you or a full refund will be provided.

    Also, Mable does not have an air conditioner or a heater, please see our “How should we dress” FAQ for additional information.

  • Then you will be missing out on a lot of fun (queue sad face)! We leave on time and highly recommend you arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour time. If you arrive late you will be charged the full amount of the tour as we don’t give refunds for any cancellations with less than 48 hours notice.

  • We are a pretty small team but try to be as flexible as possible. If you just found out about us and want to schedule a tour, feel free to email us and we will do our best to accommodate all requests!
